In cooperation with Will Pharma, Santec is now distributing the following haemostatic products:
Willocell®
Designed to stop capillary, venous and minor arterial bleeding.
Willocell® is a sterile, absorbable, biocompatible, regenerated oxidised cellulose haemostatic gauze designed to better control bleeding in capillaries, veins and small arteries and used when ligation or other conventional methods are ineffective or impractical. In endoscopic procedures, Willocell® Standard, Willocell® Knit, Willocell® Fibril haemostats cut to size can be used.
Willocell® provides fast and effective local haemostasis in 1 to 3 minutes.
Willocell® has a significant antibacterial action after 1 to 24 hours, thanks to its pH of 2.2, helps accelerate biochemical reactions, promotes healing, reduces blood loss and minimises complications that may occur before and during the early stages of surgery.

Willospon®
The leading solution for haemostasis in surgery.
Willospon®, a sterile, absorbable gelatin sponge with excellent haemostatic properties. For more than 50 years, Willospon® gelatin sponge has proven its excellent haemostatic properties in all surgical procedures and in wound healing. Prepared as sterile, absorbable sponges, Willospon® allows control of blood oozing when conventional haemostasis is difficult to achieve and when the use of non- absorbable material is not desirable.
As the Willospon® sponge is pre-sterilised with gamma rays, it should not be re-sterilised. The final packaging is double-wrapped to ensure sterility in the operating room and is ready for use by the surgeon, who can pick it up with instruments and/or dry sterile gloves.
The sponge can be easily cut and adjusted to the area of bleeding and can be applied directly to the wound by simply pressing. The origin and extent of the bleeding will determine the precise duration of application and the number of sponges required to ensure haemostasis.
For wound treatment
In the treatment of wounds, ulcers should be debrided first. Willospon® can then be applied in the desired size, with or without specific solutions.
As a drug application vehicle
Willospon® can be used in combination with antibiotics, chemotherapeutic agents or thrombin without affecting its haemostatic properties.
